I am writing this at 5:30 a.m. and we are feeling GREAT after staying up too late last night partying. We went to The Hamilton to see a band I’ve been listening to lately called Dangermuffin. They were fun!
We also really liked the 19th Street Band, a DC group who opened for them.
All this fiddlin’ and guitar playin’ took me back to my Tennessee roots. And a cheesy pizza took me to heaven.Did I mention I have a half marathon tomorrow? Carb load.Life isn’t all pizza and beer, though. I usually try to boost my meal plan to a healthier level… which brings me to the week’s salad:Buffalo chicken! Anthony and I have been obsessed with Ragtime’s buffalo chicken salad so I had to try and recreate it. I think I got pretty close!I combined this recipe and this recipe. The chicken was surprisingly easy to “buffalo”-ize. The big secret was the creamy dressing, which is actually yogurt-based and also quite simple. Accompanied by gorgonzola cheese, carrots, celery, green onions, red pepper, and romaine.
And now we’re off to the great state of Pennsylvania! I’ll be back with more news from Amish land soon.
