deep fried

What am I most thankful for?

The deep frier of course.

My family started deep-frying turkeys about seven years ago and has never looked back.

Over time we’ve learned to fry other things previously considered un-friable, such as macaroni and cheese.

And pickles.

It was a glorious Thanksgiving! With lots of food and even more family and friends. Yes, we have three types of turkey, a deep-fried ham, and three types of stuffing. Or “dressing,” as some people say.

My family is obsessed with games. In between stuffing our faces, we play darts, foosball, cards,Family Feud (with buzzer stand), bingo, and more.

And not just “play.” It’s a full-on competition.

Anthony is the Director of Alcohol at Thanksgiving and seems to be doing a pretty good job.

Oh, also, we ran a couple times. Excellent weather and plenty of carb loading to fuel our fitness. On Thursday we even ran straight into a local Turkey Trot 5k. We sped right by ’em!

Speaking of activity, it’s time to get off our butts and hit the gym before Day Three of Turkey Madness begins!

  1. Director of Alcohol, now that is a Thanksgiving worth going to 🙂 I’ve heard it is dangerous (fires and such) to deep fry turkeys but it gives me hope that your family has a long, safe tradition of doing it!
